It won't be AS WARM as Tuesday.

But, we're getting another day with highs above zero and WELL above average across almost all of Alberta.

Daytime highs will continue to stay warm (and above zero) in Edmonton right through to Monday.

Last week, we talked about Edmonton getting above zero for 14 of the first 15 days of December.

That's virtually guaranteed.  It's the most since we had 13 days above zero in the first half of December 2002.

It now looks like we'll get 17 of the first 18 days of December above zero.

After that, cooler air drops in and it's starting to look like we will end up with 17 to maybe as many as 19 days above zero for the entire month.

Edmonton averages 12 days above zero in December.

So, this will be well above average.

In case you're wondering - the average number of days above zero in December has risen pretty significantly in the past couple decades.

1941-1970 :  9 days above zero

1961-1990 :  9

1971-2000 :  11

1981-2010 :  12

LONG RANGE OUTLOOK:

Temperatures dropping to highs in the -3 to -9 range for the end of next week.

That colder air will very likely stick around through Christmas and Boxing Day.

The next best chance for snow in Edmonton is next Wednesday (at the start of the arrival of that colder air)
