Cause of death remains unknown in city’s latest homicide

Police say it will require further analysis to determine the cause of death of Armando Cosmea-Aspillaga.

Cosmea-Aspillaga, 38, was murdered by his 73-year-old father-in-law, Roberto Robles, Friday evening near 53 Avenue and Whitemud Road.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) determined Tuesday that Cosmea-Aspillaga sustained multiple stab wounds during the incident.

Robles has been charged with second-degree murder and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

This is Edmonton 24^th homicide of 2016.
