Police have confirmed human remains found in a south side ravine are those of an Edmonton doctor, reported missing in late November.

Edmonton police said human remains were found in the Whitemud Creek Ravine on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, investigators confirmed they belonged to Dr. Bryan McPhail.

Dr. McPhail, 66, was last seen by another physician at his place of work – the Calwood Medical Centre on Groat Road on Monday, November 26 at about 1:30 p.m.

Investigators said his death was not considered suspicious.
