Days after police responded to reports of gunshots in a quiet west Edmonton neighbourhood, and found a deceased man – investigators have released his identity, and confirmed he was murdered.

On Tuesday afternoon, police confirmed Didas Wong, 50, died late Sunday night in the Crestwood neighbourhood.

Police confirmed he was shot.

The news stems from the incident that occurred on Sunday after 11 p.m., police were called to the area of 145 Street and 97 Avenue after shots were reportedly fired in the area.

When police arrived, they found a middle-aged man lying on the driveway – and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, CTV News confirmed Wong owned the Dynasty restaurant in Chinatown – the establishment was closed for that whole day, and staff said they were being interviewed by police.

At last word, police had no suspects in that case.
