Hobbema RCMP have charged a man, about a day after police began investigating the death of another man on the Pigeon Lake First Nation.
RCMP said investigators from their detachment, the Forensic Identification Unit, Police Dog Section, Wetaskiwin GIS and Major Crimes Investigators began their investigation into the sudden death of a man Tuesday.
Police said Jared Brown, 30, died as a result of injuries suffered in a fight.
The Medical Examiner determined after an autopsy Wednesday that the death was a homicide.
Also on Wednesday, police said Randal Cardinal, 23, was charged with second degree murder.
Cardinal is expected to appear in a Wetaskiwin courtroom Thursday.
