Edmonton police said Wednesday that a St. Albert man was facing charges in connection to a fatal hit-and-run from mid-March

The three-vehicle crash took place at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12 in the area of 167 Avenue and 59A Street.

Afterwards, the 29-year-old male passenger in one of the involved vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver of that vehicle was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the third vehicle fled the scene on foot.

On Wednesday, police said Michael Beverly Gress, 36, of St. Albert is facing a dozen charges including manslaughter, dangerous driving causing death, impaired driving causing death, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, three counts each of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and impaired driving causing bodily harm, and two counts of breach of conditions.
