Edmonton police said a male and female had been charged after an altercation on the south side late Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to a shopping complex in the area of Calgary Trail and G.A. MacDonald Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. Monday – reports indicated the driver of a Ford truck had thrown a ‘Slurpee’ at a white Chevrolet Suburban, and the driver of the second car had pulled a rifle and waved it in the air before driving away.

The witness who called police had not been able to see the licence plates of either vehicle.

Later on, officers tracked down the suburban, and arrested the driver on an outstanding warrant.

Police searched the vehicle, and seized three knives, a loaded Winchester rifle, an unloaded SKS rifle, a prohibited SKS magazine, and ammunition.

The driver has been identified as Stacey Aaron Trotter, 31, and he’s facing 12 firearm-related offences and a breach of recognizance.

The female passenger has been identified as Jocelyn O’Connor, 29, and she’s facing eight firearm-related charges, and a breach of recognizance.

Both accused are awaiting a bail hearing.
