A lotto ticket worth over $30 million has been sold in Edmonton.

According to the Western Canada Lottery Corporation website, Friday’s Lotto Max jackpot was won by a single ticket purchased in the city.

The win continues a long line of luck for Alberta lottery tickets including a $50 million prize claimed by an Edmonton couple in July.

Andrea and Bill Groner took nearly seven months to claim their prize from the December 2013 draw.

Their ticket was purchased at the Shefield Express in Londonderry Mall.

It is the largest-ever prize won by a single ticket sold in Edmonton and the second-largest winning ticket won in Alberta.

A ticket sold in Camrose in 2005 won $54.3 million in Lotto 6/49.

Friday’s Extra, worth $250,000, was also won by a single ticket purchased in Edmonton.
