The investigation into an officer-involved shooting in northern Alberta is underway, while a man recovers in hospital.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team were called to Grande Cache Friday, to investigate an overnight incident in the community.

Few details of the incident were released – CTV News has learned one man was sent to a local hospital late Thursday night.

The man was reportedly shot by RCMP when officers tried to stop the vehicle near Grand Cache at about 9:45 p.m.

Investigators with ASIRT are called in when an Alberta police officer is involved in a shooting.
