Snow has arrived early this year, and the winter conditions have already caused problems for Edmonton area drivers.

An EPS spokesperson told CTV Edmonton they have received 95 reports of car accidents between 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Sunday: 14 hit-and-runs, 10 injury collisions, and 71 property damage collisions.

“Motorists are advised to drive for the road conditions, instead of the speed limit,” EPS said. “And pedestrians are encouraged to be mindful that vehicles may take longer to come to a stop in snowy and/or icy conditions, and to wait until all vehicles have come to a full stop before crossing a roadway.”
