Edmonton police are investigating after shots rang out in the Mill Woods area Wednesday morning, leaving one man suffering from serious injuries, which he succumbed to hours later in hospital.
Emergency crews responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 25 Avenue and 46 A Street at about 4 a.m. and found a man suffering from life threatening injuries.
Police said the 23-year-old man was treated by paramedics then taken to hospital in critical condition.
Late Wednesday afternoon, police said the man who was injured in the incident died in hospital.
The incident is being treated as a suspicious death, and police said an autopsy will be scheduled.
