Edmonton Fire officials are investigating, after a fire damaged a house in the Patricia Heights neighbourhood late Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home on Patricia Crescent at about 11 a.m. Friday.

Officials said it’s likely the fire started in the living room on the ground floor of the home, before spreading upwards – the contents of a closet were burned in the process.

CTV News has learned the young couple who own the home were at work when the fire started, and neighbours helped their three dogs get out of the backyard.

The fire was put out before the flames could spread to other homes. Officials said the home is uninhabitable.

Officials were investigating a cause.
