Edmonton Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects, in connection to the robbery of a man more than two weeks ago.
Police are investigating a robbery that reportedly took place at about 3 a.m. Monday, June 30.
According to investigators, it was reported that a man and a woman were walking to their vehicle behind E-BAR, an establishment located at the corner of 100 Avenue and 105 Street, when two male suspects approached them.
One of the suspects produced a firearm, and both allegedly tried to rob the man of his jewelry – the man tried to get away, but he was allegedly shot by one of the suspects, and a gold medallion he was wearing was also stolen.
The man went to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the woman was not hurt.
Investigators said the suspects were recorded on surveillance video heading east toward 105 Street, where they parted ways – the first suspect headed north, and the second went south.
It’s believed a white 4-door Lexus seen near the establishment might have been connected to the incident.
The first suspect is described as:
- Black male
- Mid-twenties
- Wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, light pants and black runners with white soles
- Sides of his head may be shaved into a Mohawk-style
The second suspect is described as:
- Black male
- Mid-20s
- About 163 cm (5’4”) tall
- Distinctive cornrow hairstyle
- Lean, muscular build
The suspect was wearing a tight, black shirt with a white shirt underneath, jeans, glasses, a white do-rag and white sneakers with black details around the laces.
The medallion stolen in the incident is about the size of a compact disc, police said, and hangs on a heavy gold chain – it features a sun and text ‘The Original Man’,
