Edmonton Police are asking for the public’s help in determining what happened before a young woman was found suffering from serious injuries in an incident dating back to late May.

The call for witnesses stems from a call officers responded to just after 11:30 p.m. on May 27.

Police received a report of an injured woman lying on the road along 118 Avenue, west of 78 Street.

When police arrived, they found an 18-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries – investigators said it’s not clear how the girl was injured.

“It remains undetermined whether the injuries resulted from a physical assault or if she was struck by a vehicle,” Staff Sgt. Ted Hrebien with the EPS Major Collision Investigative Unit said.

On Wednesday, police said the woman is still recovering from her injuries.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.

Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
