A 30-year-old man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the leg in Red Deer Friday night.

RCMP responded to a report of a shooting at around 11:05 p.m. on 44 Street.

The man was transported to the hospital where he remains in a stable condition, RCMP said.

A witness told police a man fled the area in a dark-coloured SUV after the shooting.

Red Deer RCMP recovered two stolen SUVs Saturday morning, but it is unclear is they are connected to the shooting.
