A day after police announced a man had been arrested in connection to the September, 2011 shooting death of a woman, RCMP said a second man had been arrested.

Hobbema RCMP said on Thursday, that officers with the RCMP Calgary Major Crimes Unit had arrested and charged a man for his alleged role in the death of Chelsea Yellowbird, 23, on September 5, 2011.

Police said Randall Omeasoo, 21, of Hobbema, had been arrested without incident, and was facing a charge of first-degree murder.

The news came a day after RCMP said Shelby Minde, 20, had also been charged with first-degree murder.

Yellowbird was shot at a home on the Samson Cree First Nation town site – she was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

RCMP said the investigation was ongoing.

Minde is expected to appear in a Wetaskiwin courtroom via CCTV November 12.
