Emergency and EPCOR crews were called early Thursday morning to a collision in a southeast Edmonton neighbourhood – that left a number of people without power.
Emergency crews were called just after 6 a.m. Thursday to a single-vehicle crash on Mill Woods Road near 17 Avenue.
Officials on the scene told CTV News it appeared the car lost control in a corner, and hit a transformer.
The collision knocked out power to a number of homes in the area, in addition to street lights – it’s not clear how far the power outage reached.
EPCOR was on the scene a short time later, and started work to restore power to the area.
An EPCOR spokesperson said later Thursday morning that 53 homes were still without power just before 11 a.m. - power was fully restored to all homes just before noon.
