Urn, kittens among items stolen from Sylvan Lake area home over Christmas holidays

Police say someone broke into a home south of Sylvan Lake and took an urn, two kittens and several other items.

Sylvan Lake RCMP have asked for the public’s help locating an urn that was stolen from a rural residence.

Police said a residence south of Sylvan Lake was broken into sometime between December 17 and 27.

Many items were taken including an urn containing the ashes of a loved one, two kittens, jewelry, 11 firearms and two Samurai swords among other items.

The urn has been described as a handmade wooden box with a floral design.

Officials have requested that the person responsible for the theft drop the item off at a police station or call Crime Stoppers to provide the location for it.
