RCMP have arrested Travis Edward Vader and an unnamed man following an early morning raid on a rural residence near Niton Junction.

Vader, identified as a person of interest in relation to the disappearance of Lyle and Marie McCann, was also wanted on outstanding warrants and surrendered peacefully to law enforcement authorities.

At the same time, another man at the home was brought in for questioning. RCMP have not confirmed if the individual has been charged.

Travis Vader's father, who declined an on camera interview, said his family has been trying to help police track down Vader for months. He says his son is a dangerous man.

He is currently in custody and will be interviewed concerning the McCann missing person case.

Lyle and Marie McCann of St. Albert left for Chilliwack, B.C. on July 3, 2010 and have not been seen or heard from since.

The McCann's Gulf Stream burned-out motor home was found on July 5th near the Minnow Lake campground approximately 35 kilometres southeast of Edson. On July 16th their SUV was located 30 kilometres east of Edson near Carrot Creek.

During the course of the investigation, RCMP and law enforcement officials received more than 130 tips on the whereabouts of Travis Vader and more than 170 tips on the McCanns and the location of their vehicles.

Police still would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the McCann's 2006 Hyundai Tucson, licence plate ZPK 289, during the period of July 5th to the 16th.
