The Edmonton Police Service has confirmed that the death of a man in southwest Edmonton on Saturday is being investigated as a homicide.
Whyte Avenue beat officers discovered the body of a man on the sidewalk at 105 Street and 82 Avenue just before 2:30 am on Saturday morning. He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later passed away.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Raad Hamza.
An autopsy was performed on Monday, and the cause of death was determined to be head trauma.
