Edmonton police said a fatal shooting in the city’s west end has been confirmed to be the 10th homicide of 2014.
The investigation started after police were called to an apartment suite in the area of 89 Avenue and 149 Street just after 4:15 p.m. Saturday over reports of shots fired.
Officers arrived to find a deceased man inside.
On Tuesday, EPS said the Medical Examiner had completed an autopsy on the victim Monday afternoon – where officials determined the cause of death was a gunshot wound.
Police said the victim was Michael Alan Hill, 38.
Homicide detectives are still processing evidence at the crime scene, and continue to interview witnesses from the apartment building.
