RCMP in Cold Lake have charged three men in connection to a June fire on an historic trestle bridge in the area.
On Wednesday, RCMP said Matthew Wakaruk, 20, of Ardmore, Alberta, Devon MacDonald, 18, and Clifford Grant-Katcheech, 22, both from Cold Lake, are each facing one charge of arson.
The charges stem from the June 22 fire that caused extensive damage to the historic bridge, that’s part of a trail system that connects a number of communities in the area.
In mid-July, RCMP said Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority completed its investigation into the fire, and said the blaze was deliberately set.
Police are thanking members of the public who helped with the investigation.
