Edmonton police have released the name of the accused and the victim in a suspicious death earlier this week.

Police said Perry Kenowekesquape, 36, is facing a charge of manslaughter, in connection to the death of Allan Douglas Waquan, 52, on January 1.

The investigation began after police were called to a condo building in the area of 103 Avenue and 111 Street, just after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

According to police, a 52-year-old man had been found in the stairwell by a friend – and the friend knocked on doors in the building in an effort to get help.

Police arrived and began performing CPR until paramedics arrived – but the man was pronounced dead in hospital.

An autopsy was completed on the victim on Friday – however, police said an official cause of death is pending toxicology results.
