Edmonton police have charged the driver of a car involved in a fatal collision north of downtown more than a week ago.

Police said Robin Denise Cort, 27, is facing a charge of impaired driving causing death, driving with blood alcohol content over the legal limit causing death, and refusal to provide a breath sample causing death.

Cort’s charges stem from a fatal collision that took place on Kingsway and Princess Elizabeth Avenue at about 5:40 p.m. Monday, April 28.

It was reported that an eastbound vehicle on Kingsway was attempting a left turn onto Princess Elisabeth Avenue, when it was hit by a westbound tractor-trailer.

The driver was treated and taken to hospital with minor injuries, but her male passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.
