An Edmonton man is facing several charges after allegedly breaking into two Spruce Grove homes on Friday.

According to police, at about 5:30 p.m. a homeowner interrupted a man as he was loading tools into a parked Hyundai Sonata located inside a detached garage.

When confronted, the suspect fled the garage in the stolen Sonata, nearly hitting the homeowner.

RCMP said the car was later seen driving “at a high rate of speed” through a residential area before coming to a stop in the middle of the road.

According to police, the male suspect was seen running from the vehicle and into a second home where he allegedly took several items and fled on foot.

Police Dog Services located the man a short time later.

Callum MacPherson, 27, faces several charges including two counts of break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.

RCMP continue to investigate.
