RCMP east of Edmonton said charges have been laid against one individual, following a week-long drug trafficking investigation.

Strathcona County RCMP said the arrest took place on April 11, and executed a search warrant at an Edmonton home.

During the search, police found MDMA, ecstacy, cocaine, marijuana, marijuana candy, hash and hash oil, ketamine powder, LSD and Dexedrine, a prescription medication – it’s estimated the street value of the drugs is about $67,065.

In addition, police said $53,890 in cash and drug paraphernalia related to drug trafficking was found.

Investigators also found an illegal stun gun.

Derrick Cheung, 26, is now facing a total of fourteen charges, ranging from trafficking and possession of a controlled substance, possession of the proceeds of crime and a prohibited weapon.

Cheung was released on $7500 cash bail – he appeared in court in Sherwood Park Wednesday, and the matter was put over to May 28.
