Police in Sherwood Park are investigating after a vehicle was set on fire over the weekend.

Strathcona County RCMP said on Saturday, August 12, at 12:15 a.m., officers were called to a home on Garnet Crescent in Sherwood Park.

Reports indicated the owner of the vehicle was inside the residence when he noticed what RCMP described as “a flash of light” coming from the front yard. The owner went to the front and saw the front end of his vehicle on fire, and an individual running away with a gas can in their hand.

The suspect was last seen heading east on Garnet Crescent.
