The company in charge of a downtown office building that had to be shut down Tuesday morning confirmed the building reopened Wednesday afternoon.

Officials with Morguard, the property manager, said Scotia Place was expected to reopen Thursday, December 12 – later Wednesday, officials said the building was back up and running, and had opened at about 3 p.m. that day.

The building remained closed Wednesday to allow EPCOR crews and others to restore power and water services, and for the manager to repair and test operating systems inside.

Scotia Place was shut down late Tuesday morning, after a water main break flooded an underground electrical system, causing a power outage in the building.

Both towers had to be evacuated, everyone inside made it out safely.

Morguard said Scotia Place tenants can call 780-421-5432 for more information.
