Edmonton police said one man was facing charges in connection to the shooting death of a woman earlier in the week, and officers were looking for another suspect in connection to the homicide.

Back on Tuesday, May 3, police were called to an Edmonton hospital at about 6:30 p.m., after reports indicated a male and female suffering from gunshot wounds had been dropped off.

A short time later, the 27-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries – police said the 31-year-old man remained in hospital recovering.

An autopsy was completed Thursday, and the Medical Examiner determined Sabrina Papin, 27, died from a gunshot wound.

On Friday, police said Chad Neville Boysis, 29, had been charged with second degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, use of a firearm while committing an offence, unauthorized possession of a firearm, robbery with a prohibited weapon and two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited.

In addition, police are looking for Brian Joseph Boysis, 34 – he’s wanted on an Alberta-wide warrant. Boysis is described as:

  • 188 cm (6’2”) tall
  • About 100 kg (220 lbs)
  • Brown hair
  • Brown eyes

Boysis is wanted on charges of second degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, use of a firearm while committing an offence, unauthorized possession of a firearm, robbery with a prohibited or restricted firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited.

It’s believed Boysis has ties to the Calgary area, and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.
