Officials with ALERT and RCMP said investigations into ATM thefts in Alberta have led to charges.

Investigators said in the first half of 2016, more than 130 ATM thefts have taken place in more than 60 communities.

Suspects have targeted banks, credit unions, gas stations and convenience stores, and often incur severe damages in addition to the monetary loss.
