Edmonton police said a man was in hospital, two suspects had been arrested and officers were still seeking a third after an assault with a weapon downtown.

According to police, officers were called to the area of 100 Street and Jasper Avenue just after 2 p.m., on reports of an assault with a weapon at a food court.

EPS said the man who had been attacked sustained non-life threatening injuries, and was taken to hospital.

Later on, EPS said two suspects had been arrested, and police were still searching for a third suspect.

At last word, the victim was in serious, but stable condition in hospital.

No charges had been confirmed.
