It's that pre-grilling time of year where people are looking for something fresh and quick! Barbara Barnes with Sobeys cooks up Shrimp Tikka Masala on CTV News at Noon.
Shrimp Tikka Masala
Serves 6
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) Compliments canola oil
- 1⁄2 onion, diced
- 1 bag (454 g) Sensations by
- Compliments Uncooked Extra
- Jumbo Black Tiger Shrimp (16⁄20 ct),
- thawed and patted dry
- 1 1⁄4 cup (300 mL) Sensations
- by Compliments Tikka Masala
- Cooking Sauce
- 1⁄4 cup (60 mL) water
- 2 small green zucchini, halved
- and thinly sliced
- 1 yellow pepper, sliced
- 1⁄4 cup (60 mL) low-fat plain yogourt
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
Directions: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and cook until golden. Toss in shrimp. Stir in cooking sauce and water, reduce heat to medium and bring to a simmer.
Add zucchini and pepper to pan and mix gently to coat in sauce. Cook, stirring occasionally, until shrimp are opaque and vegetables are heated through, about 7 min. Remove pan from heat and serve. Drizzle each plate with yogourt and garnish with green onions
