Hundreds turned out to say good bye to Spruce Grove teacher, Jolene Cote.
Cote, 36, was found dead at her home last week.
RCMP are investigating the death as a homicide but have no suspects.
Students, co-workers and family gathered at the West Meadows Baptist Church Friday morning.
The married mother of two was playing soccer the night before she died.
She had been working at Greystone Centennial Middle School for the last three years. The school was shut down to allow students and staff to attend the service. Fellow teachers served as honour guard for Cote's funeral.
The cause of death has not been released.
A fund has been set up to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for her death. Donations can be made at any Alberta Treasury Branch.
RCMP have asked anyone with information about the homicide to call Spruce Grove RCMP at 780-962-2222 or Stony Plain RCMP at 780-968-7267. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling, 1-800-222-8477 or by clicking here.
