Friday morning’s commute turned harrowing for one man, after his vehicle was struck by a tire.

Rhys Chouinard said he was driving west on the Whitemud, near the Quesnell Bridge Friday morning when the incident happened.

Chouinard said he was in the left hand lane, when he saw something suddenly pass him out of the corner of his eye.

“Then my windshield essentially exploded and glass went everywhere,” Chouinard said. “I was really in a state of shock, so I didn’t slam on my brakes or anything. I just kept driving.”

A short time later, Chouinard said he pulled over to check if he was hurt.

Luckily, he wasn’t injured, so he drove to the nearest police station to file a report on what happened.

There’s no word if police are investigating.
