More changes to the Progressive Conservative caucus, as two more members have announced they won’t seek re-election.

Red Deer South MLA Cal Dallas announced Friday that after 7 years in the legislature, he won’t seek election in his constituency once his current term is finished.

Dallas made the announcement on his Facebook page, and said he believes in Premier Jim Prentice and the current government, but ‘renewal’ is needed.

“Renewal is an essential component of our democracy and so today I am announcing that at the completion of this term I will not seek re-election,” Dallas’ statement read.

Meanwhile, Calgary Bow MLA Alana Delong announced her current term will also be her last.

Delong said in a statement released to CTV News that she would be moving on to “new challenges”.

“It has been a rewarding fourteen years in so many ways,” Delong said in her statement.

“But the time has come for me to move on to new challenges in my life. It is with sadness that I announce that I will not be running in the upcoming election. It is time for someone new to serve your needs and be your voice in the province.”

Dallas and Delong are just the latest members of the PC Caucus to announce they’re leaving provincial politics. On January 26, long-time MLA for Battle River-Wainwright Doug Griffiths, along with Red Deer North MLA MaryAnne Jablonski and Calgary-Varsity MLA Donna Kennedy-Glans announced they were leaving politics.

Griffiths said his resignation was effective immediately.

The week before, former Health Minister Fred Horne and former Finance Minister Doug Horner both announced they were leaving provincial politics.

Horne said he would not seek a third term, while Horner’s resignation was effective January 31.
