An Edmonton couple has been reunited with their dog they say was taken from their Whyte Avenue apartment patio.
Ron and Shannon Carlin said they have surveillance footage of a woman jumping the fence Friday night into the couple’s patio and taking their Maltese.
“He gets tons of attention everywhere we go,” Shannon explained.
“Dozens of people have asked me if they can have our dog and these people just decided to help themselves.”
The footage shows a woman in black jeans and a white t-shirt jumping the fence of a patio and taking the dog out of the yard. She was wearing running shoes with pink laces.
The video also shows her with a man in blue jeans and a white t-shirt with sunglasses on top of his head. His left arm also appears to have tattoos.
The Maltese, called Jäger, has been described as about three pounds, really tiny and quite cute.
“He is an awesome dog and he loves our baby so much. We love him and he is going to be so upset without us,” Shannon said through tears.
The couple made the announcement via their Facebook page, Bring Back Jäger, where they said he was found safe and sound but hungry.
Ron said he was found in the Mill Creek Ravine by a woman who called to let them know.
He said he believed that those who took him “felt the pressure” and let the dog go.
