Days after a double stabbing in the downtown area left one man dead, and a woman injured – police are releasing the name of the man slain in the incident.
Police said Douglas Gladue, 50, died after an altercation just before 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Gladue was one of two people found stabbed in a parking lot in the area of 95 Street and 102 Avenue.
Officers were called to the area early Saturday morning for a weapons complaint.
Both victims were transported to hospital – where Gladue died. The 33-year-old woman who was also stabbed suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators said the area where the incident occurred is known to police – and EPS members are working on ways to support vulnerable people at all times.
The Medical Examiner is still awaiting toxicology results – police said this homicide is the city’s 20th of the year.
