Nearly two weeks after an hours-long stand off ended with two RCMP officers in hospital with gunshot wounds, the man charged in the incident made an appearance in court.

Bradley Wayne Beaver, 38, appeared in a Breton courtroom Wednesday.

Beaver faces twelve charges relating to a standoff that began in the afternoon on December 3, and lasted 17 hours at a rural residence south-west of Breton.

His charges include attempted murder, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm.

The accused was out on bail at the time of the incident.

Beaver will remain in custody until his next court date, scheduled for January 11.

Both RCMP officers injured in the standoff have since been released from hospital.
