Occupy Edmonton protestors have been given an official eviction notice.

On Saturday, the group said they were told by Melcor they had until Sunday at 11 p.m. to leave the camp or face criminal and civil charges.

The company said it will ask police to intervene to remove people and property if the protestor's continue to stay past the deadline.

Among their concerns, Melcor issued the following reasons for the notice in an e-mail, "…in the interests of public health and safety, repeated requests and concerns issued to Occupy Edmonton representatives, the interests and rights of property owners and users, and potential liability issues…"

However, protestors tell CTV News it won't be the end of their movement.

"We have to bring the consensus of the people and if they say we're staying, we're staying. If they say we're moving, we'll move," spokesman Mohad Mohammed said.

"The movement is not going to die," he added.

Melcor said if the protestors present them and the police with a plan and timeline for leaving the site they will consider deferring the notice.

The Edmonton group said they would determine a course of action to respond to the eviction notice at a meeting on Saturday night.
