One person is dead after a highway collision involving a gravel truck south east of Spruce Grove Thursday morning.
Spruce Grove and Stony Plain RCMP responded to the two-vehicle collision on Highway 627 between Range Road 271 and 272 at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police say a gravel truck travelling westbound and a pickup truck travelling eastbound collided head-on.
The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene.
The driver of the gravel truck was taken to Westview Health Centre in Stony Plain.
The collision is being investigated by RCMP with the assistance of a traffic analyst.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
